2009 Ellerslie International Flower Show

Native biodiversity is under threat in New Zealand and in recent years, thousands of community groups and families have taken on projects to protect and restore areas of native habitat.

Bush Telly is showcasing these conservation efforts at the 2009 Ellerslie International Flower Show held in Christchurch from March 11 to 15. Forty interviews will be filmed before a live audience over the five days, and the recorded programmes will be freely distributed via YouTube, Google Video in April and a DVD in May.

Bush Telly will have a live film set at the flower show and the project is being done with the active support and participation of many agencies, community groups, native plant nurseries and other industry suppliers.

Bush Telly plans to raise public awareness through the 2009 Ellerslie International Flower Show and encourage everyone to do their bit to look after New Zealand’s wonderful native plants and animals.
